In Düsseldorf “Sticke” is local vernacular for “secret,” and Sticke Alts are usually a bit darker, stronger, and hoppier than traditional Alts. This well balanced beer has a light hoppy nose, good middle maltiness, and finishes dry. For a real winter warmer, convert this to a Doppelsticke by increasing the gravity by about 20 points and make it even hoppier – dry hops too. Prost!
